Planted in 1979 to proclaim Jesus Christ.

Cedar Creek Baptist Church began as a mission of Belmont Baptist Church. After much praying, planning and preparation, the inaugural service was held October 7, 1979 in the Cedar Creek Grange Hall, with an attendance of 54. Twelve families became charter members. We met weekly at Cedar Creek Grange Hall for 7 years. Land for a church building was donated by Joseph W. and Tatiana Y Dubard in 1980. We were constituted as a church in 1984. We occupied the current church building in April of 1987. A new fellowship hall/education wing was added in 1992. We are currently making plans for a new worship center and the remodeling of existing space to provide for education ministries.

Our church has been served by the following pastors: Rev. Hugh Greene, Rev. Alvin Bozard, Dr. Dalton Ward (Pastor Emeritus), Rev. Ron Zedick, Rev. Bryant Spivey, Rev. Todd Horton, Rev. Eric Sloan, Rev. Stephen Gantt, Rev. Jimmy Goudelock and our present pastor, Rev. James. W. (“J”) Thompson, III.

We have been blessed with many good staff workers: Youth – David Abercrombie, Cynthia Lever, Ben Newman, Al Kight, Ryan Perry, William Easom, Roger & Angela Wells, Chris & Claudia Kamen, John and Abby Harrell and currently, Drew Clemmons; Music – Yvonne Howard, Madge Strickland, Michael Davis, Emily Rodgers, Lee Myers, Jim Gill, Tripp Koon and our present Music and Worship Leader, Kevin Mulligan.

We are a mission-minded church, with members participating in local, state and international missions. In our brief history, our missions giving has exceeded a half million dollars. We are active supporters of Cooperative Program mission causes. Our annual budget missions giving is over 11 % of all General Fund receipts. Our local men’s group has worked on local carpentry projects. We have active Women’s Missions groups (“Fruitbearers” and “KoriEl”) — that promote and lead in mission projects and women’s ministries. In the recent years, members of our church have served on several short term mission.

Cedar Creek Baptist Church continues to be a vibrant congregation in the Cedar Creek Community. We invite you to come and grow with us as we share the joy of Christ in our neighborhood and around the world.

Church Vision Verse: “I am the Vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me, you can do nothing.
